Day 13 - Calligraphy

Peruvian printing class

Hola! Another busy day in placement. At the Kusi Wawa Kuna school, the 3-year olds had dance lessons. We serve lots of food while there so kitchen duty is endless - breakfast, snack and a hot lunch. The food is donated by a local church and ensures the children have access to regular meals. At the Santisima Virgen De Fatima school we are teaching English to older children. We are also creating a community mural on an outside wall of the school. It is almost finished ... stay tuned for the unveiling tomorrow.

We had a busy afternoon with a Spanish lesson followed by a Peruvian Calligraphy class. This traditional art form was taught to us by a local artisan. We created our own name plates after lots of practice. It is harder than it looks!
